I think this is actually the first birthday I have ever spent without my parents, mainly because my birthday has always fallen during spring break (for the past 6 years) and what is a better spring break destination than Miami, aka home?
Well. My mom always arranges the presents and cards like this on all of our bdays. She sent me a box of stuff, which I resisted opening until last night, when I arranged them just like she always does so when I woke up I’d have my pressies to open.
I have not really been in any kind of celebratory mood, but this basically made my morning. The tradition of it all. And how damn lucky I am to have my parents in general, and then the additional thoughtfulness. Love them a lot.
